Do not get any data

Hi.

I run the script without getting errors. I waited a long time but did not get any data.

1.Did I fill the nodes parametr from etc/monitor.propirities in right way?

example

nodes=red:chat.example.com:1234567-8:testpassword

  1. jmx-user= and jmx-pass= I need to take this parametr from etc/init.properties?

  2. This parametr jmx-user= I must fill in this way 1234567-8 or 1234567-8@example.com?

This is correct, with the assumption that chat.example.com resolves to the IP address of the machine you want to monitor

No, those information are located in two files: etc/jmx.access (which controls permissions) and etc/jmx.password (which contains actual login information

  1. This parametr jmx-user= I must fill in this way 1234567-8 or 1234567-8@example.com?

It should match the details from etc/jmx.password (that is - without domain).

I still do not get any data.

I use basic user and basic password for jmx-user=admin and from jmx-pass=admin_pass.

On the server, I can see that the port is listening.

Also check that getting access to port 9050.

It seems that everything is correct.

Tell me how to solve? And how to get logs of what has been done wrong?

  • Which operating system do you use?

  • How exactly do you start Tigase Monitor?

  • Are you able to connect to Tigase via JMX using for example @jconsole@?

  1. Linux (Fedora)

  2. Launch this script monitor.sh. Example: bin/monitor.sh

  3. Do not try to use jconsole. I have verified that the correct port listens via telnet. Thanks for the advice, now definitely check using jconsole.

You should specify properties file as well, i.e. $ bin/monitor.sh etc/server_configuration.properites

You mean init.properties?

No, properties for the monitor (i.e. file containing nodes=red:chat.example.com:1234567-8:testpassword and other monitor configuration)

In console I see that, after starting script such like that(bin/monitor.sh etc/monitor.properties):

янв 29, 2015 12:53:51 PM tigase.stats.JavaJMXProxyOpt$StatisticsUpdater$1 run
WARNING: Время ожидания соединения истекло, example.com, retrying in 10 seconds

It looks like connectivity issue. Have you tried with the jconsole yet? Maybe you should try enforcing JMX address in JVM configuration as described here
