Log doesn't work for all classes

Hi,

I have 2 questions according to log:

  1. I want to know where can I find the log of some classes such as SessionManagerClustered (and some more) ?

The class contains

private static final Logger log = Logger.getLogger(SessionManagerClustered.class.getName());

and contains prints like:

if (log.isLoggable(Level.FINEST)) {
    log.log(Level.FINEST, "Received packet: {0}", packet);
}

BUT I don't see the log in tigase.log.0/1/2... or in tigase-console.log?

  1. Which of the logs are printed in tigase.log.0 and which in tigase-console.log?

  2. How can I limit the size of the file "tigase-console.log"? I used

basic-conf/logging/java.util.logging.FileHandler.limit=1000

but it only changes the size limit of tigase.log.0/1/2

That's 3 questions actually :-)

You should find answers to all your questions about Tigase logs here: http://www.tigase.org/content/debuging-tigase

tigase-console.log contains standard output logging (which also includes exceptions), i.e. most important things.

Given that the file is generated as a simple pipe from shellscript you can't control it using java logger configuration; bottomline - there is no log rotation/limitation for the tigase-console.log file.
